In his latest paper ‘Fostering transnational research partnerships to advance men’s health’, published in the American Journal of Men’s Health, the Director of the Centre’s NT Division, Professor James Smith, assesses the growing capacity of the global community to develop an all encompassing trans-national men’s health agenda. This work arose out of his recently completed Fulbright Fellowship in the United States, and in association with leading men’s health researchers at Curtis Center for Health Equity Research and Training, University of Michigan, and Vanderbilt University.
Professor Smith states that the men’s health research community is now at a critical juncture, ready to implement a global standard for men’s health based on indicators such as the growth in opportunities for online engagement and communication and a ‘critical mass’ of men’s health scholars now entering their early and mid careers.
James’s research based at Menzies School of Health Research in the area of equity and health, is a critical component of the new global focus on men’s health.
