NT Dept of Health secondment of Mr Jason Bonson to the FCMHW NT-Division

The Centre is pleased to welcome Mr Jason Bonson to its NT-Division, Jason has been seconded from the Northern Territory Department of Health for 3 months, in the first instance. During his secondment, Jason will support the preparation and facilitation of a forum about Aboriginal male health education and career pathways on social and emotional wellbeing.

Jason has held senior management positions including as Director of the Office of Men’s Policy and Program Leader for Men’s Health (NT Dept of Health), Manager of Indigenous Workforce Development and Manager, Planning and Partnerships (NT Dept of Education).

Jason is an invited representative to the Healthy Male Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group.

Mr Bonson has been involved as an investigator in three grants awarded to the NT Division

  • Adapting an online social and emotional wellbeing education and support program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander males, Movember Foundation (Digital Social Connections Challenge). Prof Smith, Dr Canuto, Dr Gupta, Dr Rung, Dr Black, Mr Moore, Mr Bonson, Mr Aanundsen. $219,000

  • Pathways into the social and emotional wellbeing workforce for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander males, AMSANT. Mr Bonson, Mr Vigona and Prof Smith. $35,000

    and

  • Developing a Northern Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male health and wellbeing research strategy, HOT North. Prof Smith, Dr Canuto, Dr Rung, Dr Gupta, Mr Vigona, Mr Bonson, Mr Aanundsen, Mr Moore. $20,000
