The Centre congratulates Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Dr Nicole McPherson (pictured with Cooper McPherson), on being honoured with the award of 2021 Lloyd Cox Fellow from the Robinson Research Institute. Nicole is currently a National Health & Medical Research Council Career Fellow who leads the Sperm and Embryo Biology Research Group. This new fellowship, which begins in April, will allow Nicole to further develop her research into dietary interventions for optimal male preconception health for which she has received seed funding from the Robinson Research Institute.

The Lloyd Cox Fellowship was named after Professor Lloyd Cox AM (1919 - 2001), a highly-respected leader in the field of reproductive health and medicine more broadly. In 1958, Lloyd was appointed Foundation Professor in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Department at the University of Adelaide. He was influential in state policy on reproductive technology and family planning. Lloyd was also a member of the University’s Commission on Medical Schools and successfully promoted Adelaide's need for a new medical school.

Professor Cox was appointed a Member of The Order of Australia in 1981 for services to women's health.
